Better Business Roundtable
The Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce will present a roundtable discussion on procurement on Wednesday, Nov. 17, from 8:45 to 11 a.m. at 5120 W. Goldleaf Circle, Room 10AG in Los Angeles. Registration is from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Topics will include branding, working with large corporations, prime contractors and second tier procurement and traditional and alternative financing. RSVP by Nov. 16 by calling 323-292-1297.

Masquerade Ball
The Compton Education Foundation will hold its First Annual Masquerade Ball at the Carson Community Center, 801 E. Carson St., on Nov. 19 from 7 to 11 p.m. The event will honor Mrs. Blondell Filer, wife of Maxcy D. Filer and mother of Judge Kelvin Filer, for her contributions to arts education in the Compton Unified School District. It will also honor Jaffe Dickerson for exemplary service to the foundation.

Turkey Giveaway
Free turkeys will be available on Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Compton City Hall, 205 S. Willowbrook Ave. The event is being sponsored by Assemblyman Isadore Hall III, City Councilman Dr. Willie Jones, the Tau Tau Chapter of Mega PSI PHI Fraternity and The Hub Radio Station.
